Free Hanging Multi-Point Thermocouples

Thermocouple elements are mounted to the desired length then bundled together. This type of assembly is often small in diameter allowing the thermocouples to fill up the inner area of the thermowell which reduces thermal lag. Thermocouple sensors can be replaced, but the unit must be returned to the factory. The free hanging design is generally the most economical of all multi-point designs.

Multi-Guide Tube

This is the most common and reliable multi-point design. It offers long life with little maintenance. Each guide tube is welded to a plug which is then welded into and becomes an integral part of the wall of the thermowell. If a single sensor should need to be replaced, it an be accomplished easily and quickly on site without interrupting the process.

Spring Loaded Multi-Point Thermocouples

A leaf spring holds the junction to the inner wall of the thermowell. Spring loaded multi-points respond quickly to temperature changes. Thermocouple replacement requires entire element assembly to be returned to the factory for servicing or replacing the entire element.

TeleSensor

External Mounting at Tank. Unaffected by Foam or Vapor. Electronic (4-20 mA) or Pneumatic Output. KING-GAGE® TeleSensor detects level by sensing hydrostatic pressure created by liquid depth. Acting on the force balance principle, a sensitive diaphragm is exposed to the liquid contents of the tank. Compressed air within the sensor creates a pneumatic pressure that balances the force of the liquid acting against the diaphragm. This diaphragm unit is generally paired with the 868 D/P Sensor Control with integral transmitter. This converts the pneumatic isolation pressure to a proportional 4-20 mAdc signal suitable for process control or remote level indication.

Tank Mount Fittings and Adapters

Weld In Shell for Flush Fit. Adapt Existing Fittings for Retrofit. Accommodates AcraSensor or Electronic Sensor.A variety of mounting options are provided by our selection of weld in shells, quick release fittings or adapters. These include retrofitting tanks having other original manufacturers sensor mountings. Of course, KING-GAGE® weld in shells are available installed by most leading tank manufacturers.

Purge Control

Continuous Level Measurement. Simple Proven Sensing Technique. Suitable for Corrosive or Aggressive Liquids. When purged with compressed air, liquid within a downpipe extending into the tank is displaced by air pressure equal to the hydrostatic force created by liquid depth. If carefully regulated at a low rate of flow, air pressure will constantly maintain equilibrium against the force of the liquid. Output is proportional to liquid depth and can be transmitted as an electronic 4-20 mA signal or pneumatically as a direct 1:1 pressure signal.

LiquiSeal Purge Control

Continuous Level Measurement. Simple Proven Sensing Technique. Suitable for Corrosive or Aggressive Liquids. When purged with compressed air, liquid within the downpipe is displaced by air pressure equal to the hydrostatic force of liquid in the tank. If carefully regulated at a low rate of flow, air pressure will constantly maintain equilibrium against the force of the liquid. Output is proportional to liquid depth and can be transmitted as an electronic 4-20 mA signal or pneumatically as a direct 1:1 pressure signal.

ES2 Slimline Transmitter

Robust protection in washdown environments. Continuous liquid level measurement. Two wire loop powered (4-20 mA). KING-GAGE® ES2 transmitters provide liquid level measurement for inventory monitoring. Add to their rugged reliability the major benefits of simplified service and maintenance. Performance characteristics of these transmitters include excellent stability and repeatability (better than 0.02% FS). Transmitter span accommodates a 3:1 turndown ratio* to match the application pressure range (i.e. tank depth) and the 4-20 mAdc output is compatible with PLCs or other control architecture using analog I/O.

Downpipe Check Valve

Simple Inline Installation. Float Check Avoids Pressure Drop. Guards Against Siphoning From Tank. Power Supplies and Control Knobs: VA pair of 15 VDC circuit-card power supplies is available for integration of Type 3000 transducers into 120 VAC systems. The ZMS-JR powers a single Type 3000; the ZMS15-2 powers up to 2. In addition, the ZMS15-2 can control a pair of Type 3000 transducers with 0-10 V when combined with the P1 Control Knob. The ZMSJR is rated at 375 mA maximum output; the ZMS15-2 at 750 mA. Connections are made via removable terminal blocks. Both power supplies are short circuit protected, and mounted in trays for easy DIN rail mounting. The ZMSJR (without DIN tray) can also be standoff mounted. AC power cords are included. The ZMSJR has a 3.6" X 3.1" (91mm X 79mm) footprint and is 2.6" (66mm) high when mounted in its DIN tray; the ZMS15-2 is 5.4" X 3.1"(137mm X 79mm) and 2.7"(69mm).

Remote Pressure Sensors (RPS):

The Marsh Bellofram Remote Pressure Sensor (RPS) is designed for connection to the second loop output of the Type 3000. When used to monitor pressure at the output of an external volume booster, or directly at the user’s remote application, the RPS sensor increases overall accuracy and speed of response to downstream changes. Sensors are available in pressure ranges from vacuum to 1,000 psig, with choice of 0-10 V or 4-20 mA field adjustable RPS outputs. Units are designed to reliably operate over a temperate range of 0 to +50°C.

External Volume Boosters: Volume Boosters increase the flow capacity of electro-pneumatic transducers, leading to faster response time and increased ability to remain at set-point. Low-flow transducers (Types 3210, 3220, 3510, and 3520) can be mounted on the volume booster of your choice. To specify this option, simply add the booster’s two-letter code to the Options field of the Type 3000 part #. The RPS sensor can be used with two-loop transducers (Types 3120, 322X, 3420, and 352X), closing the loop to the booster’s output and increasing overall accuracy. When the distance between transducer and volume booster is large (e.g., when the transducer is mounted in a cabinet and the booster is installed directly at the application), one of the high-flow transducers (e.g., Type 3211 or Type 3512) can drive the booster over distance.

Single phase output current is a sine wave over the speed range of the tachometer. These units have 100 ohm stators and are intended for voltage responsive systems. When greater accuracy is required, use a tachometer having a 32 ohm stator (designation F in the type number) and a frequency responsive indicating system. For speeds over 5,000 rpm, use the bearingless AC generators. Provided with conduit junction box with 1/2 N.P.T. opening suitable for flexible conduit which may be located in anyone of four positions at right angle to shaft. Designed for locations which are subject to mechanical abuse or water spray, such as paper mills and chemical plants where cleaning up by hose is frequent.
